Privacy Policy

SYMT Maps is a map for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia: search, directions, navigation and places. This policy explains what information we collect when you use it, why, how long we keep it, who else is involved, and how you can download or delete your data. We do not sell your data, we show no advertising, and we use no third-party analytics or tracking.
1. Using the map without an account
- What you ask the map for. To answer, our servers receive the text you search for, the part of the map you are looking at, and the start and end of routes you request.
- Your location. Only if you allow it in your browser. It is used to centre the map, to start directions from where you are, and for turn-by-turn navigation. It is sent to our servers only with a search or route request that needs it. We do not keep a history of your location.
- Saved places and recent searches stay in your own browser (local storage) unless you sign in.
- Server logs. Like any website, our servers record technical details of each request — IP address, browser type, time and the address requested — to keep the service secure, stop abuse and fix problems. Logs are rotated automatically and kept only for a short period. API keys and sign-in cookies are removed from logs.
2. Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional. You sign in with your Google account; Google confirms who you are and shares the following with us. We never see or store your Google password.

We use this information only to provide your account features. We do not use it for advertising and do not share it with anyone except as described in section 4.
3. Things you contribute
- Reviews and ratings are public and show your display name. New reviews may be checked by a moderator before they appear.
- Road reports (crash, jam, police, closure, hazard, speed camera) are shown to other drivers nearby until they expire. You can report without an account: then the report is linked only to a one-way code derived from your network, never to your IP address itself. Reports are deleted one week after they expire or are cleared.
- Place suggestions and photos (adding a missing place, correcting one, adding a photo) are reviewed by moderators before they appear on the map.
- Share ETA. When you share your trip, your live position and arrival time are kept on our server only while you share — at most 6 hours, and the link ends 15 minutes after the last update. Anyone with the link can see your progress until it ends.
4. Other companies involved
- Google — only for signing in. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
- Esri — if you switch to the Satellite or Hybrid map, your browser loads satellite pictures directly from Esri, which receives your IP address and the map area you view.
- Cloudflare — our network and security provider; all traffic to maps.symt.ai passes through it.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose it only if required by law.
5. How long we keep information
- Account information and what you saved — until you delete it or delete your account.
- Recent searches and trips — until you clear them or turn history off.
- Sign-in sessions — 30 days; expired sessions are deleted automatically.
- Road reports — deleted one week after they expire or are cleared.
- Shared trips — at most 6 hours.
- Server logs — a short period, for security and operations.
6. Your choices and rights
- Download your data — in the map, open your account (the person icon) and choose Download.
- Delete your account — in your account, choose Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, sessions, saved places, recents and reviews. Road reports you made stay visible until they expire but are no longer linked to you.
- Location — you can allow or block it at any time in your browser settings.
- Remove access — you can also remove SYMT Maps from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/connections.
7. Security
All connections use HTTPS. Sign-in sessions are stored only as secure hashes, cookies are protected against cross-site use, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will act promptly on any problem.
8. Children
SYMT Maps is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
